Signe Brander (1869–1942) photographs belong to the treasures of the city of Helsinki.

This time, there are 79 photographs from her cityscapes of 900, covering a cross section of Helsinki a hundred years ago.

The glass plate negatives have been digitized in high resolution.

The most popular section was The Time Machine dia show on a big screen, produced some 10 years ago, with contemporary photographs giving us the opportunity to compare Helsinki then and "now". Many cityscapes were unrecognizable (and interestingly, in the last 10 years, many changes have also taken place... !).
